Our Goals & Projects

Below are the various current initiatives and projects of our non-profit. We encourage you to learn more about each project to understand the benefits of each idea and hopefully spark your interest and desire to get on board, volunteer, and help us bring these ideas to fruition.

Installing video cameras in the Oakland Senior Center will make senior citizen programming more enjoyable to watch, as well as enabling the Borough to cover events and government meetings that take place in the space, bringing increased and faster transparency to all residents.

Installing video cameras on select recreation fields, so that sporting events can be recorded and/or broadcast live, will create content of interest for the community and will be of value to families wanting to witness important life moments when they cannot be there in person.

Installing video cameras in the Oakland Public Library in the area near the stage allows for the Library's variety of talent, performances, and speakers to be seen by more people, raise awareness of the work of the Library and its non-profit, and preserve these performances for posterity.

Although the era of frequent, print news is dwindling, an annual hard-copy version of the Borough's newsletter that summarizes the in-depth profile pieces, non-profit spotlights, and unique news and history of our Borough can be an engaging form of media for residents of all ages.

Welcome Packet for New Residents

A booklet to welcome new residents to Oakland, encourage volunteerism, provide useful and important information, and make an early connection to local businesses would foster a stronger sense of community and easier integration into life in Oakland.

A Borough Wide Bulletin Board

We intend to expand the reach of the Borough's Bulletin Board, seen on Oakland TV between programs, to other Borough buildings and locations to gain additional visibility regarding upcoming local events, important Borough information, and news and initiatives related to Oakland.

Study and Help Recruit Volunteers to Sustain and Grow Borough Committees
Many aspects of Borough committee work fail to attain their full potential due to a lack of volunteers. We wish to study why this has become an issue and then to pursue initiatives to entice new volunteers to join committees and other groups and to retain volunteers more effectively for years to come.
Host Trainings on Communications Topics

We intend to host training classes, open to Borough volunteers and the public, on high-demand skills such as photo and video editing, photo and video composition, use of AI for multimedia, graphic design, and more!

Volunteer With Us To Make These Goals a Reality
